Create your comfortable study environment

So it is definitely advisable to finish one paper of your optional subject before the prelims. Irrespective of whatever is your state of preparation, please do not take the Paper 2 of Prelims for granted. It is advisable to everyone, even the ones who find aptitude papers very easy, to solve a minimum of 10 full length question papers of CSAT Paper 2. If you score more than 70% in all of them, there is no need to do anything. If you are in the 50-70% bracket, find your weak areas and work on them. If you are below 50%, you must properly prepare for this paper, section by section.
How to prepare for UPSC CSE 2021 - Step by Step Guide
Step One: Know the basics of the exam
It is crucial to know the basics of your exam that you are preparing for! Therefore give a week’s time to know about the exam pattern, syllabus and the other things which is needed to appear for the examination. You can check different youtube channels and check out expert’s videos on these areas.

Step Four: March towards Prelims and Practice Writing Mains
This is the last part of preparation before the prelims. It is advisable to give full mock preparations before the exam along with a rigorous revision of the content that is fully based on prelims. Write the answers thoroughly and get it checked by your mentors. This will assess your writing skills. Do not start reading anything new at this time and just give a thorough revision on what you have done all these days.
Step Five: Interview Preparation
For Interview preparation, prepare all the standard questions well in advance. You should be extremely confident about yourself, work on your soft skills, groom your personality, and regularly read newspapers in order to keep yourself vigilant through and through.
